About Easy Solution Training Room

Why we built a private 5/F venue in TST, who we built it for, and what we'll never compromise on.

Most meeting room venues in Hong Kong sell square feet by the hour. We sell something different — a private, predictable, no-surprises room for the kind of meeting that actually matters.

Why we built it

Before opening Easy Solution Training Room in 2024, I'd spent years booking meeting rooms for boards, AGMs, training programs and the occasional NGO support group I helped facilitate. Almost every time I left frustrated.

Hotel function rooms wanted HK$3,000+ F&B minimums for a 6-person board meeting where everyone just wanted coffee. Coworking spaces sold day passes when we needed two hours. HKPC training rooms required week-ahead applications. The Toastmasters chapter I'd visited had been bouncing between three different hotel ballrooms in the same year because nobody would lock a recurring slot.

None of these venues were built for the work we were trying to do. They were built for the operator's business model — and the operator's business model wasn't ours.

So I rented a private 5/F room at Star House, sorted out the AV, made the WiFi fast, and decided the rules from the customer's side. That's Easy Solution.

Who we built it for

We deliberately picked a room size that doesn't compete with hotel ballrooms. 30 seats is enough for:

HKEX-listed companies running quarterly board meetings where the boardroom inside their own office is needed for trading floor business. NGOs running weekly support groups where four solid walls mean clients can speak about hard things without fear of being overheard. Toastmasters chapters who want the same Saturday morning slot every week without negotiating with a hotel banquet manager each time. Language schools who need a Sat-morning HK$700 slot at the same rate as Tuesday afternoon because their cohorts pay weekly tuition and can't absorb weekend surcharges.

The four-person serviced office is not who we built it for. The 500-person gala dinner is not who we built it for. Those have hotels and HKCEC and Compass and Regus, who do those well. We do the in-between — 10 to 30 people, professional-grade, no surprises.

What we won't compromise on

1. Transparent pricing — no surprise fees, ever

The rate you see is the rate you pay. WiFi, AV, A/C, water, cleaning — all included. No "setup fee", no "tech surcharge", no F&B minimum. If a quote we send doesn't match what the website shows, that's our mistake — we'll honour the website.

2. No weekend premium

Most TST venues charge 30-50% extra on Saturday and Sunday because they can. We don't, because our recurring NGO, Toastmasters and language-school clients NEED weekend slots and shouldn't be penalised for the operator's convenience. Saturday 09:00 = Tuesday 14:00.

3. Verified discounts that stack honestly

NGO Section 88 = 10% off, verified against IRD register. Toastmasters chapter = 10% off, verified against TI directory. Education provider = 10% off. Same-day stack = extra 30% off, no questions. The math is on the website and we don't fudge it.

4. The room you book is the room you get

Single private 5/F room. Not a partition. Not shared. Not "managed by us but actually in someone else's building". When you arrive at 09:00 your booking starts at 09:00 — we've already unlocked the door, tested the AV, and put a bottle of water on the table.

5. We tell you when we're not the right fit

If you're hosting 50 shareholders for an AGM with a sit-down lunch, we'll tell you to book a hotel ballroom. If you need a permanent serviced-office address, we'll point you to Compass. If your event qualifies for HKPC subsidies, we'll tell you that route is cheaper net. Honest matchmaking beats forced sales — and you'll come back when we ARE the right fit.

6. We answer WhatsApp ourselves

+852 4423 7445 goes to me, not a call centre. During venue hours (09:00-23:00) you get a reply in under 15 minutes most days. If I'm running an event in the room, you'll get a reply within an hour. No automated chatbot, no "your inquiry has been received" autoresponder.

7. The locked-zone discipline

Booking system, payment system, timetable, discount engine — once a customer is in flow we don't tweak the plumbing under them. The booking you made yesterday will still calculate the same way today, even if we add new features tomorrow. Trust comes from predictability.

What clients tell us we got right

The two pieces of feedback we hear most often:

One — "I came in expecting an extra fee at some point. There wasn't one." If we made one decision well, it was this: the rate card on the website is the entire commercial deal. No HK$200 cleaning, no HK$300 AV check, no HK$500 "key handover". You see the number, you pay the number.

Two — "Booking on the website actually worked." Live calendar shows real availability. Click a slot, pay, get a confirmation email immediately. We get told often that this is somehow rare in HK SME services. We don't know why. It's not hard.

What we're still figuring out

I'm not going to pretend everything is solved. As of mid-2026:

We could improve the room photography. The current photos look like a 2018 PowerPoint stock-image library. New shoot is scheduled.

We don't have a permanent rep on the floor between bookings — the room is unstaffed between events. If you arrive 30 minutes early and need to ask something, you WhatsApp me. Some clients want a receptionist. We don't have one. That's a deliberate tradeoff (it keeps prices at HK$700 instead of HK$1,400) but it's a real tradeoff.

The WordPress backend booking system was rebuilt twice in 2026 and is now stable, but I wouldn't say it's beautiful. Functional, yes. Beautiful, no.
